  • Persistent symptoms of dry eyes and/or mouth
  • Parotid gland enlargement
  • An unexplained increase in dental caries,

Diagnosis

  • Objective marker of dry eye or salivary hypofunction/characteristic MRI or ultrasound
  • Characteristic autoantibodies or labial salivary gland biopsy or systemic autoimmune disease
    • Anti-Ro/SSA and/or anti-La/SSB antibodies, rheumatoid factor, and hyperglobulinemia

  • Immunosuppression and biologics
