- Runs down lateral to anterior sacral foramina, i.e. anterior to roots of Sacral Plexus
- Supplies the roots and Piriformis
- Spinal branches enter the Anterior Sacral Foramina
- Supplies the spinal meninges, roots of spinal nerves
- Pass through posterior sacral foramina to reach muscles over back of sacrum
- Artery takes over the segmental supply from the Lumbar Arteries
- Usually a Superior Sacral Artery supplies the 1st two sacral segments, and an Inferior Sacral Artery supplies the remaining segments
