- Sclerosis occurring in men and pre-menopausal women with longstanding T1DM
- Often associated with other diabetic complications (retinopathy)
- Clinical
- One or more hard masses
- Features often indistinguishable from malignancy
- Aetiology
- Likely immune reaction to abnormal accumulation of altered extracellular matrix
- As a result of hyperglycaemia
- Path
- Sclerosing lymphocytic lobulitis
- Natural hx
- Doesn’t predispose cancer or lymphoma
