- Origin: External Iliac Artery behind the Inguinal Ligament
- Course:
- Runs laterally towards the ASIS in a sheath formed by the Transversalis and Iliac Fasciae where they meet
- Continues along inner lip of Iliac Crest
- Pierces the Transversus Abdominis
- Travels within neurovascular plane
- Anastomose with branches of the Iliolumbar and Superior Gluteal Arteries
- At the ASIS, it gives an ascending branch that may be at risk in a gridiron incision
