Papillomaviruses are a group of ubiquitous non-enveloped double stranded deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) viruses of which a subset of around 150 are pathogenic to humans.
Sequele
- Benign hyperproliferative lesions (Anal warts)
- Flat pre-malignant change (AIN)
- 25% of oropharyngeal cancers
- cause the majority of penile, vaginal and vulval cancers
- 90% of cervical and anal invasive squamous cell carcinomas.

- Anoreceptive intercourse
