
- Obturator artery
- Originates from Internal Iliac Artery
- Branch of the Anterior Division
- Originates from Internal Iliac Artery
- Passes through the obturator canal to the medial compartment of the thigh
- NB: In 20%, can be off external iliac supply
- Either directly (A), or off inferior epigastric (B)
- This is known as the Corona Mortis which can cause significant bleeding if the Lacunar Ligament is stretched or divided during femoral hernia repair
